Happy Halloween: Power clutch

Boo! Happy Halloween, friends! Hope you are enjoying a day full of tricks and treats! I'm dressed in customary orange and black today and loving the feeling of festivity! Did you dress up for work/school/trick or treating? How did your costume turn out? I promise to share pictures of my attire tomorrow.

Today, I am LOVING my new Essie nail polish in Power Clutch. I’ve been looking all over for a PERFECT gray! To me, this literally looks like drying cement. Sounds unattractive but is a perfect addition to my fall color list. If only mustard didn’t look so heinous on nails, that would be my next purchase! What color are you rocking this week?

Until next time, may your day be full of magnolias, bourbon and lots of tricks and treats!

What I'm Loving Wed-nes-day!

Half way through the week.... I can't CAN do it! If only my sniffles and cough would disappear. The only thing getting me through this week are thoughts of:

THIS! I want NEED this! After seeing this in the Burberry store with Sweet E, I've rearranged my wish list. Very surprising, I'm usually not even a BB fan.

LOVE backless dresses. Such a nice surprise! I'm also LOVING her shoes.

Excuse me ma'am, do you have the time? Why yes, YES I DO...NEED THIS!

I am ALL about patterned tights this fall/winter.
Aren't these lovely?

I'm LOVING my new Seven Jeans I got for my birthday. CANNOT wait to wear them!

I'm loving that I'm celebrating my birthday with the girls tonight! Cabana...great food, good
drinks. The absolute PERFECT cure for the sniffles and coughs!
P.S. Tay Tay Swift and John Mayer were spotted here... a favorite of Tay's when she's in town.

What are you loving today?

One of my favorite things about where I work is that I am just down the street from our local farmer's market---which is open YEAR ROUND. When I've had a CrAzY morning in the office one of my favorite ways to de-stress is to walk around the market. Nothing takes away the nerves, anxiety or frustrations like the smell of fresh fruits and veggies.

I've started to make a list of favorite vendors and those who are not so wonderful. I've found that I can can purchase two to three more times the veggies than at the grocery store for half the price and MUCH better quality.

Now, if only I could ride my cruiser there!

Until next time, may your day be full of magnolias, bourbon and local fruit and veggie love!

Friends, Birthdays & Good Food!

Happy Monday, friends! Today I was home sick. I think the fall weather has finally caught up with me. I still feel kind of crummy, but can't stop thinking about how wonderful my birthday weekend was. Friday evening, I helped my newly engaged friends stock the bar at their new casa. It was soo GREAT catching up with girls I haven't seen in months and starting my birthday celebration early.

Saturday, sweet E delivered my favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte to my bedside table along with one of my favorite birthday cards ever, a singing gnome! We spent the rest of the day shopping and grazing at my favorite village restaurant, Jackson's.

Saturday evening we had dinner reservations at Midtown Cafe. I have to admit, I was hesitant of going there. BOY was I surprised. This has to be one of Nashville's best kept secrets. I've lived in Music City for three years and never hear of it. The name does not do this place justice. My starter of lemon artichoke soup was TO DIE FOR, not to mention the Mahi Mahi and lobster risotto! E ordered the veal and it was just as tasty! We ended with Creme Brule and lingered over a delicious Cotes Du Rhone wine. To top off a perfect birthday, we enjoyed special birthday cocktails at The Patterson House.

If you haven't had the chance to dine at a pre-prohibition inspired cocktail lounge, I HIGHLY recommend it. After several visits, I am still blown away by the creativity and time that goes into creating the delicious concoctions. This weekend I left my drinks up to the bartender and came away very pleased. First I had a cucumber based drink as refreshing as mountain water. I ended the evening with a Bulleit Bourbon based classic cocktail. My favorite though, was sweet E's Pumpkin spice Bourbon drink called Rocky Top. AMAZING.

To end my weekend, I was treated to a mani/ pedi. 27, while hard to think about, is treating me well so far! I'm looking forward to the many memories to surely come throughout the year! Especially my birthday dinner with the girls on Wednesday!

Until next time, may your day be full of magnolias, bourbon and great joy!

Friday Fancies: Happy Birthday, to ME!

Happy Friday, y'all! hope everyone has adjusted to the chilly temperatures that set in. For me, this week has crept by. Luckily, it's Friday, and tomorrow is MY BIRTHDAY! I cannot believe this year I'll be celebrating the big 2-7!

Thanks to {av}'s pink inspiration for Friday Fancies, I've created two fabulous birthday outfits. Saturday I plan to shop and why not dream of looking fabulous while doing it! I love the pink blazer with skinny black cropped pants. The leopard print shoes are such an unexpected pop! If I owned this outit why would I need to shop? Saturday evening, I plan to go to celebrate with sweet E. I decided to tranistion my pop of pink a tad lower...into a skirt! I am LOVING all of the patterened and polka dot tights available this year. I decided to stick with solid colors and add flair using the Kate Spade tights.
Truly dream birthday getups!
Thanks {av} for the FABULOUS new FF button!
XoXo
Until next time, may your weekend be full of magnolias, bourbon  and lots of birthday sweets (in my honor)!

Friday Fancies: What a BOOTiful look!!!

Friday is finally here! Thank goodness! Besides my weekend countdown, I always find myself  counting down until my Friday Fancies post goes live. Creating a FF look is always better in the fall. I love that layering can give any outfit a new look instantly and accessories can take anything from day to night.

This weekend I will be visiting the Bell Buckle Craft Fair in search of creative home accents and then sending my friend, Ali T, off to Dallas with a bang. Ali recently got a wonderful new job and will be leaving in seven days. While endings are bittersweet, new beginnings are even sweeter!

This weekend my ideal outfit consists of a dress comfortable enough to shop and classy enough to carry me through cocktails. Who better than McQueen and Burch?!

Until next time, may your Friday be fancy and full of magnolias and bourbon!
What a Bootful look!

My Guilty Pleasure

I'm not usually a girl who makes it a point to keep up with Hollywood (other than the GLAM hair and clothes), but thanks to Prep Talk I am OBSESSED with Suri's Burn Book. You I can't help but love the sass and priss behind this blog and the celebrity mini it speaks for.

I completely agree with the thoughts on "celebrities who disappoint her." The comments made literally make me laugh out loud. Check out some of my favorites:

Amy Adams, her daughter, and three of the things I hate most in the world:
Crocs.
Sand.
Graphic tees.

Sometimes I think Louis Bullock might be the only person who understands me. If my mother dressed me up as a pirate, got herself a matching hat, and took me to a party where the favors were made out of cardboard, I’d be pretty upset, too.

No, this is not my official Halloween costume. But it is October, after all, and that means Pumpkin Spice Lattes and public dress-up. Gosh, I wish magic was real. If this wand was actually effective, I’d be accio-ing Katie better jeggings and some dignity.

A kid who loves fashion, despises the poorly dressed and calls her Mother out on her fashion faux pas.
Hysterical. Bookmark it. It will brighten any bad day!

Until next time, may your Thursday be full of magnolias, bourbon and plenty of rainy day distractions!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy hump day, friends! Hope your day is fabulous! Today I'm linking up for What I'm Loving Wednesday! This link up is just too fun to miss. I can think of a million things I love everyday and these posts always makes me prioritize my want/need/dream lists. Without further ado:

THIS! I've been looking for man/woman neutral bedroom ideas and this one is my FAVORITE!
The man-friendly palette still has a soft feel with the accents of clear glass lamps and beautiful floral touches.

LOVE this little glitter pop in a manicure. Such a classy/sassy way to show my playful personality!

I'm loving the way I feel after a morning walk. Nothing beats the way it feels to wake up to the feel of crisp, fall air, stretch your muscles and get your body going. This is definitely a habit I hope to keep!

Ahhh! Him...or her. Either way, this has been my desktop background for months and I just can't get enough. Each time I open my laptop I giggle like a six year old. I need want a Goldendoodle in the worst way. One day, one day!

I'm finally making the big switch! Bye, bye Blackberry. HELLO iPhone! I'll be needing a tutorial! All help welcome!

READ ARTICLE HERE
Lastly, I have this article hanging in my office at work. Every Southern woman should read it. It is beautifully written and an accurate description of what I consider myself strive to be. Garden and Gun always seems to get it right. Ms. Allison Glock, thank you for putting into words the things every belle tries to explain about herself but can't.

Until next time, may your day be full of magnolias, bourbon and lots of things you love!
